He loves the whole kiwi and me, too!
My husband eats the whole apple. Yes, I know it seems weird to you if you’ve never done it. If you’re grossed out, try it sometime. It’s a little harder texture in the middle, and I still don’t routinely do it, but I have tried it, and it’s really not that strange.
Tonight I bought him kiwis. Delicious, flavorful kiwis. He grabbed one and started right in. He just ate right through it, fuzz and all. I was weirded out.
Me-You’re eating the fuzzy part.
Him- Yeah.
Me-What are you doing? You don’t eat the fuzzy part.
Him-I do.
Me- You eat the whole thing? That’s gross
Him- Yeah. Of course. It’s not gross. It’s just part of the kiwi.
And then it hit me. The way he eats fruit is so symbolic of his whole personality. He just rolls with the punches. He accepts the good with the not so delightful. He loves life with its ups and downs and doesn’t get caught up in the minor details.
He has never minded my “fuzz.” He has never seemed taken aback by my “core.” He has never stopped to wonder if most people would be bugged by some part of me. He just likes me. All of me. Because all the things–even the not-so-wonderful parts–are part of me.
And he loves me.
And I am the luckiest woman on earth.
I’m glad I married a man who eats the whole apple.
Great post! My hubby eats the whole apple too…
Merry Christmas

I eat orange slices, peel and all, too, and lemon slices sometimes as well.
I’ve never eaten a whole apple, though.

What would he do with a pineapple? That I’d pay to see

In highschool I started eating whole kiwis (except for the one hard-to-chew end) It was just easier than pealing the the fuzz off while at school. And now, I actually still do it. It is probably healthier!
I have yet to eat a whole apple… that would really take some convinceing since I don’t want an apple tree to grow in my stomach like I would say would happen when I was 10. Love you!

I was just browsing blogs and came across yours… I think your husband sounds fantastic
I eat the whole kiwi too, the fuzzy part is kinda good, it is a little bit tart.

Aw, man. Now I have to go whack my husband on the arm and screech “why can’t you eat the whole apple?” He just loves when I do that. Really.
